Marc Guehi is said to be so furious at his failed Liverpool transfer that he is considering giving up the Crystal Palace captain’s armband this season. The Palace central defender was poised to finally make his dream switch to Anfield to join the Reds after what has been a bit of a long-running saga this summer. Guehi, 25, was on the brink of a £35million move but at the eleventh hour the deal collapsed as chairman Steve Parish had a late – very late – change of heart. Guehi had already completed the first part of his medical and a deal sheet was prepared to allow both clubs to work on the finer details after the deadline. But it was claimed that manager Oliver Glasner threatened to walk if it went through, and that cost the England international his dream transfer.
